Self Drive Car Co-founder and CEO Kyle Vogt Resigns

Renowned entrepreneur of General Motors, has resigned as per email sent to their employees. After his confirmation of resignation, Mo Elshenawy will serve as CTO and president of cruise. This was confirmed by CEO and GM chair person Mary Barra.

Cruise board member named Craig Glidden will remain in charge as administrative officer. He was appointed recently and continues to perform his role for the company.

Jon McNeill given the responsibility of vice chairman of the cruise person. McNeill was earlier working as COO at Lyft and president of Tesla.

Role for CEO spot is yet to be confirmed as per data of Sunday evening.

This resignation came after the California Department of Motor Vehicles suspended cruise permit. This action takes place after an accident occur on 2nd October, when a foot passenger ran over and dragged 20 feet by the AV.

Self drive car breaks badly and stopped over women. All of this incident can be seen in a 7 seconds video available with the concerned person.

Kyle Vogt also posted about his resignation update on X as well. Meanwhile, he will spent some time with family and will work on new ideas for his future campaign.

Barra is still assuring that they are concerned about rebuilding of trust, transparency, accountability and safety. Their focus will be on long success of this project. Public trust is most essential for them.

However, morale of the employees and management shaken up after this unfortunate event. They started working more safety aspect. The company laid off workers who were working on contract bases. This issue also making the things worst at current situation.

Those contract based workers were engaged in activity of charging, maintaining and cleaning of the vehicle. Apart from this work, they also used to handle customer support inquiries as well. Lay off of workers are not limited to contract workers, this may possibly extended to some of their 4000 full time workers as well.

Company also stopped employee share selling program last week, which further intense the issue. This decision may hamper them further in their upward journey. Later Vogt sent an email to team for allowance of limited share sell for some employees. Vogt also sent an apology for the situation of the company at current time.

Vogt and Cruise found this company way back in year 2013. They used to offer retrofit arrangements for vehicle to convert into self drive car.
